As fathers, we need to be involved in our children’s lives not just when it’s convenient or easy, and not just when they’re doing well — but when it’s difficult and thankless, and they’re struggling. That is when they need us most.”

I think it changes your relationship with time. I just don’t have time to waste. You gotta be really deliberate with how you choose to spend your day because those are the moments you’re away from your child.

I’m in a position where I want to be closer to my parents now because I realize how important that is. There was never a point in my life where I could ever remember loving somebody as much or more than my mom until I met my daughter, and so it made me understand — my mom loves me more than she loves anybody in the world, and that’s crazy to me.”

Success, and even life itself, wouldn’t be worth anything if I didn’t have my children by my side. They mean everything to me.”

Those first 2, or three years are priceless. You can’t get them back… those are the formative years. Being there to be part of that process, taking those moments for me is really really important.”

Communication with my daughter is so important. I always want to give my daughter a platform to talk to her dad, and I want her to be able to do whatever she wants.”

Men should always change diapers. It’s a very rewarding experience. It’s mentally cleansing. It’s like washing dishes, but imagine if the dishes were your kids, so you really love the dishes.”

When you have kids, you see life through different eyes, you feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate”

I think the best thing to try to do is allow your daughter or your son to know that they can come to you for anything. If you can break down that wall so they don’t feel embarrassed by telling you things, that’s half the battle.”
