He was there when I didn’t understand, he was there when I was wrong, he was there when I cried, he was there when I lied. For some reason my dad was always there, when I needed him the most.”

We really just try to find the things that they’re good at, and support those things rather than forcing them.”

I’m in a position where I want to be closer to my parents now because I realize how important that is. There was never a point in my life where I could ever remember loving somebody as much or more than my mom until I met my daughter, and so it made me understand — my mom loves me more than she loves anybody in the world, and that’s crazy to me.”

Family is a wonderful thing, but it doesn’t mean you can’t do other stuff in your life. In fact, having a family makes whatever other thing you have that much richer”

My kids are my greatest piece of art. If I can pump them full of amazing stuff and surround them with beautiful art and music, then I’m going to live out my life watching them”

I think it changes your relationship with time. I just don’t have time to waste. You gotta be really deliberate with how you choose to spend your day because those are the moments you’re away from your child.

Fatherhood is the greatest thing that could ever happen. You can’t explain it until it happens—it’s like telling someone what water feels like before they’ve ever swam in it.”

Men should always change diapers. It’s a very rewarding experience. It’s mentally cleansing. It’s like washing dishes, but imagine if the dishes were your kids, so you really love the dishes.”

I don’t know anything, but it’s kind of part of the beauty of it, honestly. There are a lot of instincts, a lot of things that kind of kick in and switch on. It’s a beautiful experience.”

Communication with my daughter is so important. I always want to give my daughter a platform to talk to her dad, and I want her to be able to do whatever she wants.”

I think my mom put it best. She said, ‘Little girls soften their daddy’s hearts.”

I think the best thing to try to do is allow your daughter or your son to know that they can come to you for anything. If you can break down that wall so they don’t feel embarrassed by telling you things, that’s half the battle.”
