We really just try to find the things that they’re good at, and support those things rather than forcing them.”

Communication with my daughter is so important. I always want to give my daughter a platform to talk to her dad, and I want her to be able to do whatever she wants.”

As fathers, we need to be involved in our children’s lives not just when it’s convenient or easy, and not just when they’re doing well — but when it’s difficult and thankless, and they’re struggling. That is when they need us most.”

When you meet your kids you realize that they deserve great parents. And then you have your marching orders, and you have to try and become the person that they deserve.”

It’s [fatherhood] changed me a lot. Being a father is a healing process for me. It allows you to reconcile some of the issues I maybe had or some of the issues that made my relationship with my father quite complicated.”

I think the best thing to try to do is allow your daughter or your son to know that they can come to you for anything. If you can break down that wall so they don’t feel embarrassed by telling you things, that’s half the battle.”
